Bowdie has adjusted just fine to his new foster home. He goes for daily walks and seems to enjoy meeting other dogs. He walks so proudly with his tail nice and pointed straight out. He seems to really enjoy car rides and even when we go out for walks he always get excited and goes for the car first thinking he’s getting in. Hopefully he’s not too disappointed when it’s just a walk. He does great around kids and enjoys their company.
He hangs out with us in the evenings in the living room while we relax and watch TV and then around 9:30 or so he’s ready for bed. I tell him “in” and point to the crate and he goes right in and settles in for the night. We’re working on “sit” and he seems to understand “Bowdie, come” very well. He and our cat are doing great together. They seem to want to play together because when they get around each other and touch noses, Bowdies tail wags like crazy and our cats tail swaggers happily.
I’m not much of a runner but during our walks I will run a bit. Bowdie’s got a great running pace for me and never pulls, even when walking. He’s cute because he always looks over at me as if to make sure I’m doing OK. He loves to play fetch in the yard with his ball. He lets me know he’s done when he fetches and instead of bringing the ball back to me, he goes inside the house with it. That pretty much tells me he’s had enough.
I have yet to hear him bark! Even when the dog behind our house barks, Bowdie just ignores him. He’s very mellow, very quiet and pretty well mannered. Bowdie has fit right into our routine with no problems. He is a happy boy!
