Hudson Bath, originally uploaded by NorCalGSPrescue.
Hudson finally got his staples out after 3 weeks of being a very patient boy. And how does he get rewarded? A bath! He was a perfect bather and is now squeaky clean. Check out the video of Hudson multi-tasking in the bathtub. He loved drinking out of the faucet. He liked it so much, when one of his foster sisters was getting her bath he tried to jump back into the tub! There are regular bowls of water for drinking you know, Hudson:)
Here’s Hudson getting into the swing of being a house dog. Even though he had to wear a t-shirt for three weeks to protect his staples (you can’t see it, but this one says “Rise and Shine” on the front), he quickly caught on to the tennis ball and grabbing a comfy bed before one of the other dogs in his foster home could claim it:)
You can see on his thigh and back foot the callouses from being on concrete all those years. We’ll be working on those now that he’s all recovered from his surgery. More to come!
Hudson is doing well post-surgery. The first week was a little tough, with some seepage at the site of the staples, but now things are progessing nicely. He’s turning out to be a marvelous dog! He’s already learned that outside is for going potty, and inside is not - pretty good for an older dude that was kept outside on concrete all the time. His staples come out in a few days, and we hope to have some newer photos soon.
