Some great information about Webber from his foster home:

He is so easy to have around!  He is housebroken, and crate-trained.  He also knows not to get on the couch, bed, or countertop (the closest he’s come has been nosing me at the dinner table!).   He seems to love his crate (and willingly sleeps and eats there).  He’s recovering from heartworms, but seems otherwise very healthy.

He knows basic commands but is getting a refresher, especially with leash training.   He has a manageable amount of energy, and likes to play fetch.

Webber needs to lose about 5-10 lbs, but on the flip side, he’s very food-motivated for easy training.  He’s currently 70-75 lbs and quite tall.

He gets along with all sizes of dogs, and didn’t mind when our dog snarled at him, but knew to leave her alone.  He’s  playful with other dogs, and apparently was trained not to play in the house.

No cats!  He wants to chase them.

Other random things: He has not barked yet, even when our dogs start barking.  Also, he likes to give kisses!

After zooming around, Gretchen is finally worn out and ready for some snooze time!

There was more than the usual hub bub that comes with a new foster when Rocker first came to my parent’s house, primarily because of the ”extra baggage” he came with in the form of a large tumor on his left side.
Right away, I was surprised that Rocker didn’t seem bothered by it at all -no signs of pain, discomfort or distress. In fact, aside from the tumor, Rocker seemed healthy. He was lively, playful, and a dog raring to seize the day.
We got Rocker to the vet for his exam and luckily, they were able to remove the tumor on the same day. In the short time that they took care of him, the vet and her staff all fell in love with the boy and his brave, sweet spirit.
Once the tumor had been dealt with, we had to begin smoothing some of Rocker’s “rough edges.” He had never been an inside dog so he needed to learn some indoor manners. HIs coat was dull and coarse and by the way he would snatch treats from your hand, it was easy to ascertain that he hadn’t been given many.
In the past few weeks, Rocker is beginning a nice transformation. His coat is softer and starting to shine and his manners are much improved. But the best parts of Rocker are the parts that haven’t changed; those are his loving, companionable nature and his larger than life indomitable spirit.

Notice anything different about me?  Now the only lump I’ve got is this huge Kong!  I’m ready to play, and I’m ready to meet you!

Here I am, all recovered from the surgery!  Finally, I get to roll in the grass and play!

Do you like the dirt trim on my cone?  Can you help me, I’m stuck in here!

Oh, not just the cone, but a diaper and a drain.  On the bright side, that huge tumor is gone gone gone!
