NorCal GSP Rescue

Axel is a very handsome, energetic 3-year-old GSP.  He has been hard at work on his issues and that effort is beginning to pay off.  He is extremely well-behaved inside; does not chew on things that are not his and avoids areas that he is told not to go to.  He is amazing at the coffee shop, café, etc. where he will lie down where asked and wait, patiently watching.  Axel has a few basic commands under his belt and knows ‘Sit’, ‘Down’, ‘Come’ and ‘Stay’(pretty well).  He is great running on a short leash next to the bike and makes an excellent cycling partner – never too tired or wanting to see his favorite show on TV.  He also loves, loves, loves to play fetch.   He responds well to people but is still asocial towards other dogs and continues to work on that daily.  Axel is not an easy dog, but he has made great strides and his struggles make his successes all the sweeter.  He requires a family that is committed to providing plenty of exercise, training, encouragement and love.

The tumor has since been removed, and we are waiting for detailed reports so we can plan next steps and treatment options.
